SUSTAINABILITY
IMA has over 30 years of experience in designing and producing storage solutions that help people organize their kitchens. And a large part of our business is about storing and recycling waste and in that way creating possibilities for new energy. Today sustainability and circularity is more important than ever, the climate change is demandig that everyone of us contributes in our private lives.
That is a main object för IMA, to help people help the planet. We start by giving great possibilities through our waste solutions.
HERO - A EUROPEAN STANDARD
By 2023 all EU countries must take care of and collect food waste. This is a small revolution in our industry since it affects how we develop kitchen interiors and storage solutions.
IMA has been working together with different national associations in waste disposal, to try to come up with a solution that can be used all over Europe. And the result is our very own HERO.
A ventilated bin specialized in collecting food waste that fits all drawers and cabinets and goes together with all different types of bags.
WORKING WITH SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals (officially known as the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs). Goal number 11 is about creating sustainable cities and communities. Target number 11.6 is described: "REDUCE THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF CITIES. By 2030, reduce the adverse per capita environmental impact of cities, including by paying special attention to air quality and municipal and other waste management."
And this is where IMA´s work come in. We are a local company with a global engagement in making it easier for people to manage their waste.
CIRCULAR HOME LIFE
Waste is both a large source of renewable materials and a source of energy. To be able to reuse materials and reduce the use of fossile energy sources we have to start by making it possible for people to collect and sort waste in their daily life. This is what we are dedicated to everyday.
Developing smart and beautiful solutions that encourages and enables people to take care of their waste in their kitchens. And give them easy ways to bring it to garbage stations.
The life of the many people can be made circular when it comes to waste if it is convenient to collect and sort it. Every kitchen should be equipped with good solutions for this. That is our mission.
INCREASE SHARE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY
We operate in Sweden that is a country with access to green and renewable energy sources. Our production lines are highly automated and effective to ensure a sustainable and optimal energy consumption. IMA is and will be a company dedicated to responsible energy usage. But we also dedicate our work to the giant green energy source that food waste constitutes. By influencing organizations and companies to standardize food waste collecting and making it possible we strive to contribute.
