CODE OF CONDUCT

In this page, we describe the principles that guide the way we work at IMA and the standards we set for ourselves and our partners.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY AND WHAT THE POLICY COVERS

IMA is committed to building an organisation that has a positive impact on both people and the environment. Our Code of Conduct sets out the fundamental principles that guide how we act in our organisation and in our partnerships. It applies to all employees, suppliers and partners and covers areas such as business ethics, human rights, working conditions, health and safety, and the environment.

We base our work on internationally recognised guidelines, such as the UN Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Global Compact and the ILO’s core conventions, and regard these as the minimum standard for our work.

BUSINESS ETHICS AND COMPLIANCE

We conduct our business in a responsible and ethical manner. We always comply with the laws and regulations in force in the countries where we operate. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of corruption, bribery and illegal benefits. Business decisions must be made on objective grounds and without any conflict of interest.

We respect competition law, protect immaterial rights and handle information responsibly. Personal data and other sensitive information must always be processed in accordance with applicable legislation.

HUMAN RIGHTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

We respect and uphold human rights throughout our business and our value chain. All employees must be treated with dignity and respect and have the right to freely enter and terminate their employment.

We do not accept child labour, forced labour or any form of modern slavery. We take particular care with young workers to ensure that their work does not affect their health, development or education.

Discrimination, harassment and abusive treatment are not acceptable. Work must not involve any form of inhuman or degrading treatment. Everyone should have equal opportunities regardless of background and the working environment should be characterised by respect and inclusion.

Terms of employment must be clear and fair. Employees are to be provided with information about their rights, working conditions and compensation.

HEALTH, SAFETY AND OUR WORKING ENVIRONMENT

We provide a safe and healthy working environment where the well-being of our employees is a priority. Work should be organised in such a way that risks are prevented and managed. We work systematically to improve the working environment.

Working hours, including overtime, must in accordance with laws and agreements. Overtime work should be voluntary and compensated correctly. Employees are entitled to rest and recovery.

We also respect the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining.

ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY

We work actively to reduce our environmental impact and expect our suppliers and partners to do the same. This means that we manage resources responsibly, reduce our emissions and waste, and strive to improve our environmental performance over time.

Environmental risks must be identified, measured and monitored. Improvement measures should be implemented where they are most effective. We encourage a systematic approach to reducing environmental impact and using resources more efficiently.

MONITORING AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Our Code of Conduct is part of our agreements with suppliers and partners. We monitor adherence to the policy through dialogue and, where necessary, audits. Should any deviations be detected, corrective action must be taken and improvements implemented.

We encourage openness and the raising of any questions or suspected deviations, so that they can be dealt with in a responsible manner.
