40 YEARS OF INNOVATION, RELATIONSHIPS & SMART SOLUTIONS

In 2025, IMA celebrated its 40th anniversary. A milestone that not only marks four decades of business development, but also 40 years since two entrepreneurs, Lars-Gunnar Johansson and Isac Andersson, first met at the Shell gas station in Gnosjö. A meeting that would lay the foundation for the company that today is an established partner to the Scandinavian and European kitchen industry.

Since that day in 1985, IMA has evolved from an entrepreneurial idea into a leading supplier of waste sorting solutions, kitchen drawer organization systems, and wardrobe storage solutions. Over the years, we have built long-term relationships with customers and partners across Europe and become an important part of the development toward smarter, more functional, and more sustainable homes.

RELATIONSHIPS THAT DRIVE SUCCESS

Although our products have changed and evolved over the years, one thing has remained the same since the beginning: our belief in the importance of people.

Success is not only about technology, innovation, and solutions. Above all, it is built on relationships. That is why close collaboration, open dialogue, and long-term partnerships are at the heart of IMA’s culture. We believe the best results are achieved when people share knowledge, build trust, and work toward common goals.

This applies to our customers and suppliers as well as our employees. Many of our relationships span decades, which we see as proof of the trust and commitment that have characterized IMA since its founding.

FROM GNOSJÖ TO EUROPE

It is fascinating to think that everything began with a meeting at a gas station in Gnosjö. Forty years later, IMA supplies products to some of Europe’s leading kitchen and furniture manufacturers. At the same time, we have retained much of what defined us from the start – our entrepreneurial spirit, our close relationships with customers, and our constant drive to find better solutions.

Over the years, the market has changed, customer needs have evolved, and demands for sustainability have increased. IMA has met these changes by continuing to invest in product development, quality, and long-term partnerships. It is this combination of experience, innovation, and relationships that has made us the partner we are today.

LOOKING AHEAD

The anniversary year of 2025 provided an opportunity to reflect on the journey that began when Lars-Gunnar Johansson and Isac Andersson met for the first time. But it was also an opportunity to look ahead.

The demand for smart, sustainable, and functional solutions for the home continues to grow. With 40 years of experience, strong customer relationships, and a clear vision, IMA is well positioned for the future. We will continue to develop products that create organization, functionality, and lasting value—while nurturing the relationships that have been such a vital part of our success.
